The Svelte HandbookSvelte is an exciting Web framework that offers a fresh new take on how to build Web applications.
If you are already experienced in React, Vue, Angular or other frontend frameworks you might be pleasantly surprised by Svelte.
My first impression with Svelte was that it all feels so much more like plain JavaScript than working with other frameworks. Sure, you have some rules and there are templates that are not 100% JavaScript (they look more like HTML) but most of the things that are complicated with other frameworks are very simple and lightweight with Svelte.
And my first impression has been confirmed by further usage of the framework and its ecosystem of tools.
Compared to React, Vue, Angular and other frameworks, an app built using Svelte is compiled beforehand so you don't have to serve the whole framework to every one of your site visitors. As a result, the fruition of the experience is smoother, consumes less bandwidth, and everything feels faster and more lightweig ...
Apache HTTP Server CookbookThe Apache HTTP Server, colloquially called Apache, is the world's most used web server software. Originally based on the NCSA HTTPd server, development of Apache began in early 1995 after work on the NCSA code stalled. Apache played a key role in the initial growth of the World Wide Web, quickly overtaking NCSA HTTPd as the dominant HTTP server, and has remained most popular since April 1996. In 2009, it became the first web server software to serve more than 100 million websites.
Apache is developed and maintained by an open community of developers under the auspices of the Apache Software Foundation. Most commonly used on a Unix-like system (usually Linux), the software is available for a wide variety of operating systems besides Unix, including eComStation, Microsoft Windows, NetWare, OpenVMS, OS/2, and TPF. Released under the Apache License, Apache is free and open-source software.
In this open book, we provide a compilation of Apache HTTP Server tutorials that will help you ...
Modern Computer Architecture and Organization, 2nd EditionAre you a software developer, systems designer, or computer architecture student looking for a methodical introduction to digital device architectures, but are overwhelmed by the complexity of modern systems? This step-by-step guide will teach you how modern computer systems work with the help of practical examples and exercises. You'll gain insights into the internal behavior of processors down to the circuit level and will understand how the hardware executes code developed in high-level languages.
This book will teach you the fundamentals of computer systems including transistors, logic gates, sequential logic, and instruction pipelines. You will learn details of modern processor architectures and instruction sets including x86, x64, ARM, and RISC-V. You will see how to implement a RISC-V processor in a low-cost FPGA board and write a quantum computing program and run it on an actual quantum computer.
This edition has been updated to cover the architecture and design principle ...
Mastering Python, 2nd EditionEven if you find writing Python code easy, writing code that is efficient, maintainable, and reusable is not so straightforward. Many of Python's capabilities are underutilized even by more experienced programmers. Mastering Python, Second Edition, is an authoritative guide to understanding advanced Python programming so you can write the highest quality code. This new edition has been extensively revised and updated with exercises, four new chapters and updates up to Python 3.10.
Revisit important basics, including Pythonic style and syntax and functional programming. Avoid common mistakes made by programmers of all experience levels. Make smart decisions about the best testing and debugging tools to use, optimize your code's performance across multiple machines and Python versions, and deploy often-forgotten Python features to your advantage. Get fully up to speed with asyncio and stretch the language even further by accessing C functions with simple Python calls. Finally, turn yo ...
SAP Intelligent RPA for DevelopersSAP Intelligent Robotic Process Automation (RPA) enables businesses to automate repetitive work and integrate automation capabilities across SAP and non-SAP systems.
This book provides end-to-end coverage of business process automation using SAP Intelligent RPA and shows how to build multiple SAP Intelligent RPA projects from start to finish. Some of these projects may build upon the work done in previous chapters to showcase the Agile development process in SAP Intelligent RPA.
As you progress, you'll cover the SAP Intelligent RPA factory, Desktop Studio, Cloud Studio, and the Bot store. You'll also learn about the building blocks of the SAP Intelligent RPA solution and creating bots from initial application declaration to workflow design and deployment, along with making bots run in attended and unattended modes.
You'll also learn about SAP Process Automation, the new SAP service that is going to replace the SAP Intelligent RPA service soon. Finally, we will discuss the migr ...
Continuous Delivery with Docker and Jenkins, 3rd EditionThis updated third edition of Continuous Delivery with Docker and Jenkins will explain the advantages of combining Jenkins and Docker to improve the continuous integration and delivery process of app development.
You'll start by setting up a Docker server and configuring Jenkins on it. Next, you'll discover steps for building applications and microservices on Dockerfiles and integrating them with Jenkins using continuous delivery processes such as continuous integration, automated acceptance testing, configuration management, and Infrastructure as Code. Moving ahead, you'll learn how to ensure quick application deployment with Docker containers, along with scaling Jenkins using Kubernetes. Later, you'll explore how to deploy applications using Docker images and test them with Jenkins. Toward the concluding chapters, the book will focus on missing parts of the CD pipeline, such as the environments and infrastructure, application versioning, and non-functional testing.

Blueprints Visual Scripting for Unreal Engine 5, 3rd EditionUnreal Engine's Blueprint visual scripting system enables designers to script their games and programmers to create base elements that can be extended by designers. With this book, you'll explore all the features of the Blueprint Editor, along with expert tips, shortcuts, and best practices.
The book guides you through using variables, macros, and functions, and helps you learn about object-oriented programming (OOP). You'll discover the Gameplay Framework and advance to learning how Blueprint Communication allows one Blueprint to access information from another Blueprint. Later chapters focus on building a fully functional game step by step. You'll start with a basic first-person shooter (FPS) template, and each chapter will build on the prototype to create an increasingly complex and robust game experience. You'll then progress from creating basic shooting mechanics to more complex systems such as user interface elements and intelligent enemy behavior. The book demonstrates how to ...

The Express Handbook follows the 80/20 rule: learn in 20% of the time the 80% of a topic. The author find this approach gives a well-rounded overview. ...
Games and RulesWhy do we play games and why do we play them on computers? The contributors of Games and Rules take a closer look at the core of each game and the motivational system that is the game mechanics. Games are control circuits that organize the game world with their (joint) players and establish motivations in a dedicated space, a "Magic Circle," whereas game mechanics are constructs of rules designed for interactions that provide gameplay. Those rules form the base for all the excitement and frustration we experience in games.
This anthology contains individual essays by authors with backgrounds in game design and game studies, who lead the discourse to get to the bottom of game mechanics in video games and the real world - among them Miguel Sicart and Carlo Fabricatore. ...
